Washing Machine: Sign of Success

It's been a quiet month at Scarlet Threads, but we're still working away!

We have a new shipment of aprons arriving at Jenny's (our distributor in the states and my darling sister-in-law) very soon, and so within the next week there will be brand new Scarlet Threads products on the website available for purchase.

Here's a taste... adorable children's aprons that match our most popular grown-up versions, tiger hats, and a brand-new adult apron .  I think the fabric combo on this new apron might be my favorite yet.  Here's a little pre-launch sneak peak.

I also wanted to share a little story about the difference you are making as you partner with Scarlet Threads to bring work, dignity, and beauty to the women here in our village.  Jacob was at our primary seamstress' home the other afternoon and noticed that she had her family had purchased a brand new washing machine, which was sitting in front of their small courtyard home, humming away as it washed a load of clothes.  We've never noticed a washing machine at their home before, and since their only source of water is in their courtyard, we're pretty sure that they didn't have one since we walked past their faucet on a regular basis.

So, dear friends, you guys helped our seamstress buy what very well could be her first washing machine.

It makes me feel all bubbly and excited just thinking about it.  I hope you do too.

Thanks for making this possible.  Scarlet Threads wouldn't be anything other than a "good idea" without you guys.  We have a lot of work to do to make Scarlet Threads a success and not just a one-hit-wonder.  So, in the coming weeks, we're going to be working hard to promote the Scarlet Threads vision and our adorable products in any way possible.  If you want to join us, know we need more hands to bring this vision to reality.

  1. I'm in...I'd love to do a post about it!! I've been wanting to do one of Breanna and Khloe in their 'matching' aprons anyhow, and I have the pics ready to go. Let me know what you'd like me to include and how I can help! (email me!!)

Just hearing the story about the new washing machine makes me all bubbly inside, too! Our Pastor has always said the best way to bless those in need is to equip them for success rather than just giving a handout that is only temporary...and I think Scarlet Threads has done just that!! I'm sure they are so proud...I am proud for them!

    Blessings and Hugs,
    ~ Tanya

  2. Carrie,

Your dad thinks they should be called "Tigger" hats :>) With love, Dad.

  3. The "sneak peak" leaves me wanting more! Just based of what I've seen, I think you may already have an order for that one! :) And I can't wait to see the rest of the new line-up!

The story of the washing machine gets me down deep. I so take for granted the ability ot be able to wash my laundry in my own home, and here is a woman who has the luxury of placing one in the courtyard...due to our purchases of cute, trendy little aprons. I'm still trying to process that fully...

  4. good blogs. i learn a lot reading your post. nice to know people sharing same interest and ideas. sweetodor
