MONDAY MONTAGE: The Fairy Stitch Factory

Hello Readers!

It's October- in many states the leaves are changing colors, there is a chill in the air and everyone's thoughts start to turn towards the holidays. Actually one of my favorite holidays is just around the corner: HALLOWEEN! It's a time of magic and whimsy for adults and kids alike- so it is in that spirit that I wish to introduce you to Janel Norris owner/artist in residence for The Fairy Stitch Factory

Janel's Etsy shop bills itself as a plethora of handmade wonders. Her jewelry section consists of stunning necklaces, colorful hair combs/accoutrements, elegant earrings, and unique wrist cuffs. She offers stock pieces as you will see in my inspiration board of favorites below, plus she is happy to work with her clients to create custom pieces.

On top of that Janel's shop also dabbles in the realm of whimsy and make believe offering period pieces, costumes, as well as customized ballet shoes and fairy wings! Stop on by their costume gallery at

Remember Halloween is right around the corner. If you , or a little girl you care about, is looking for fairy wings don't hesitate to look in Janel's Wings section!

Janel is proud to offer our readers a 15% discount on her Etsy shop for the next two weeks**! Just type in the code SCARLET at checkout. For custom jewelry orders please email her and let her know that you found her site from ours, mentioning Scarlet Threads, in order to get that discount applied.

  1. Janel is amazing. I regularly visit her parents, so have seen a lot of her work--and her husband Matt's too. I commissioned her to design the jewelry (hair combs, necklaces, bracelets, earrings) for my daughter's wedding this June (bride, mothers, 6 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls).

Her fairy wings are a technological as well as aesthetic wonder. Her fairy shoes are also unique. Check out her costume designs too.

Disclosure: Her brother David (my new son-in-law) is also a top-notch designer.
